Details:
Most of the images I've been shooting lately try to capture the reality of the binocular view of the comet with a foreground object in the field for perspective. Here we see the comet in near full moonlight and early astronomical twilight. Visually, much of the long Ion tail has all but vanished in the moonlight, while through binoculars, much of what is seen is dust. On this morning (May 9th) I estimated the comet to be magnitude 5.6 with a 1/2˚-long tail as seen through 8 x 42 binoculars. Wonder how the comet would appear with no moon in the sky.
