Details:
The Marius hills region in the Oceanus Procellarum consists of large number of lunar domes which formed as a result of multiple volcanic outbreaks. In the image taken on May 4 a large number of domes.All domes imaged are part of larger volcanic province of the Marius shield. Parasitical cone and dome building often occurs near the summit and on the flanks of such features during the latter stages of shield growth. The domes have features on the summit and the image displays them.
