Another surprise aurora last night, and quite a big one! Again with very bad weather and pessimistic forecast, I was not expecting much, and with a long day ahead of me I had not planned anything special aurora related.  That was without counting clear sky and a bright green glow visible from inside my cottage when I looked outside just before going to bed just before 1 AM.  The sky wasn't completely clear, but what a bright and fast aurora show! Bright auroras, fast moving, a couple of nitrogen fringes (that I sadly didn't capture), and sharp beams going straight up to the zenith. Also this despite a very low Kp!  I guess equinox time combined with my latitude (70°N) is a perfect recipe for auroras! I don't even know anymore how many nights in a row we have had beautiful shows here in Utsjoki!
