Details:
This Aurora season is just not ready to end here in Utsjoki, in the northernmost part of Finland! I had no hope at all to see the northern lights tonight, with very weak solar wind numbers and clouds and even snow at my location, so I planned a quiet evening at home. Just while entering my sauna around midnight, I noticed from the north facing window that the outside world was glowing quite strongly in green! So I grabbed whatever I could and ran outside to snap a few shots. No time to go really far, those kinds of display can fade as fast as they appeared, so I just went to the "forest" behind my cottage (that you can see pictured here). We might still have 1 to 2 weeks of dark enough skies left here, so who knows how many displays we will still enjoy!
