The equinox Auroras are the real deal! What a night again in Finnish Lapland. It all started, as most nights, as soon as the sky became dark enough. The aurora was already in the sky, and was being slowly revealed while the sky was becoming darker. The first sight was a bright narrow band extending from east to west, above the southern horizon (1st picture). I wonder if that's not Steve? That would be a first for me at such high latitude (70°N). After this, the aurora swirled and moved across the sky, displaying a beautiful show as always. Sadly, I think that I missed a big outburst, as of course clouds showed up just at the wrong time. By the time I got home around 2:30 AM local time (one of those cottages on the 3rd picture on the river bank), the sky was glowing in green patches that were moving very rapidly in the sky. I quickly ran to the river ice to also capture the light pillars that were coming from the lighting of the "Sami Bridge", crossing the river between Finland (left) and Norway (right). What a beautiful night in Finnish Lapland!
