Details:
I'm 62 years old and have loved the night sky for decades. I have never observed the Zodiacal Light in my life, and decided it was time. My wife Judy, my dog Chance, and I drove 7-8 hours (one way) from northwestern Washington State to an obscure dark sky location in eastern Washington. I was surprised at the amount of light pollution there was on the horizon. However, as the sky darkened Venus shone brightly, and finally the diffuse Zodiacal Light was both observed and photographed! Canon 6D with a wide angle lens on a tripod and using a cable release, ISO varied from 1600-3200. Exposures ranged from 20 to 35 seconds.
