Details:
I caught the reappearance of Mars from behind the waxing crescent Moon as it rose over the trees on the horizon about an hour before sunrise.
I woke my girlfriend up to join me just before 3rd contact on the Earthshine part of the limb and made it back outside just in time to start shooting.
My view on the camera monitor was nice and detailed at 2032mm, but I enjoyed the visual finderscope at 50mm as well.
A good shoot. Some high, thin clouds to add some atmosphere. Hopefully I get an HDR image and timelapse out of the data, but here’s my favorite short single exposure with high ISO (plus two unedited bonus images of the closer pairing).
