Details:
I went out to a local MetroPark to see if there were any interesting ice patterns in the skating pond. The temps had been in the 20ºF range for a while and I expected to find more ice. There were some beautiful iridescent clouds reflecting in the partially frozen skating pond. Normally, there would be 3-6" of ice on this pond by this time of year and folks would be happily gliding all over it's surface. None of the larger ponds and lakes have frozen over this year. It's been a record-setting warm Winter around here - just like in Antarctica.
