Another great night in Abisko! My wife and I have a long drive ahead of us today so I went to bed a bit earlier than normal last night. After about thirty minutes of trying to fall asleep, my phone began to vibrate and indicated that I had received five messages in a very short amount of time. Curiosity got the best of me so I could not resist looking an the phone - it turned out that all of the Lights Over Lapland guides who were working at the time had been communicating in our work chat group with each other telling the rest of the crew to make sure that all of our guests were outside the teepee and watching a powerful display dance overhead! I knew it was a big show as the comments from the guides read as follows: "WOW! Its really kicking off now” and “Oh, what a dance!!” Sadly, our webcam missed most of the really powerful stuff as the lights were the most active just out of view to the northeast. Luckily, we still got a few nice shots on the webcam which we are able to share today. Nights like this make me feel so lucky to live in a place like Abisko! Stay tuned – with a bit of luck the next stream of solar wind will have an even larger impact and the show will fall within the view of our array of web cameras :)
