Details:
The Eastern AM twilight of September 23, 2019 was striking early on, with a vivid orange band rising with a serrated spiky edge as cloud shadows ate into its edge. Soon deep shadows appeared on the right (Southern) side. The entire central portion of the twilight seemed to be largely shadowed by clouds far to the East with the extremities shining unimpeded. In addition to the initially lit Stratospheric layer there was a peculiar high altitude cloud layer 'edge' which appeared as the earlier glow faded. This sharp border, straight and sharp, spanned the entire sky from Northeast to Southwest. Then a second set of crepuscular rays appeared, apparently shadows cast by the thunderheads whose tops were seen in the far distance.
