Details:
About 11:30 PM, Sat Aug 24, a faint wisp of aurora showed up overhead. A half hour later it was showing respectable shimmers and green glowing swirls. 45 minutes later it let loose with vast arcs and slashes whirling overhead. not much visible aurora color, but a copper moon rise off to the northeast livened up the horizon. By 12:30 am, it was all over, like someone turned off a switch.
Shot at the Boat Launch, Prelude Lake, about 25 km east of Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, Canada. Canon 5D m IV, Sigma 14 MM at f2.8, ISO 2500, 4 secs.
