As I mentioned in a previous post, I missed the first part of the show on August 5th 2019 when the aurora was quite strong and intense due to a very persistent, sick and unbelievable non-stopping rain, but like a miracle, just after 04:00 am, the clouds started breaking up and the sky cleared up, more and more patches of clear sky and stars were taking over the dark clouds in Kakwa. That break from the clouds gave me roughly a little bit more than 30 minutes to enjoy and eventually be able to catch some of the wild display on camera before the daylight will take over the sky, one more time, in the eternal dualism night vs day. What was left from the geomagnetic storm, the tail of it, were some of the softest and colorful, fast moving and pulsing overhead coronas I ever witnessed. Brilliant greenish purple to pinkish blue yellowish rays were flickering overhead and were like long spears lunging in all directions. Definitely the clouds in interaction with the Aurora were giving a spectacular effect. What was interesting the fact that after 4:30 am even with the dawn already in place I could see the lights dancing pretty much all over the sky, in all directions. This tells a lot about the intensity of the storm which was ragging over the Kakwa sky.
