Lens flare. Draw a line from the sun to the unknown light and you will see that it crosses the center of the image, and that sun and unknown light are equidistant from the center.

A mirror image of the sun or the moon, street-lights and bright stars, can easily occur with a UV or skylight filter in front of the lens. 30 years ago, in the film days, I learned that night scenes through such a filter are unwise.
