Details:
During the 2nd contact of the Total Solar Eclipse in 2017, a Corona (atmospheric optics with the rainbow colour) appeared around the Diamond Ring, with Shadow Bands casting within the corona (the stripes on both sides of the Corona). A thin layer of cloud in between the sun and ground is believed to have allowed the projection of the Corona and Shadow Band. While a thin layer of smoke from a wild fire may have also contributed to the cause. Camera: Canon EOS 6D 1/1250 ISO200 Lens: Televue Pronto 480mm f/6.8 Triggered by Solar Eclipse Maestro SOC (Straight out of the camera besides a couple of dust removal and watermark)

Hi Taichi, your solar eclipse imaged of the diamond ring effect is so beautiful and unusual, thank you for sharing :-)

We also made the trip to the US for the 2017 eclipse but were clouded out at St Joseph in Missouri...not to worry you take these chances with a natural event, we did love America and will be back there for the Total Eclipse in 2024 🌞
