Details:
I work nightshift 20+ years and have seen some past noctilucents during my drive home, but have never been fortunate to take photos. Monday morning June 24th, I was amazed to see a FANTASTIC display and I took a total of 1952 photos with my new Samsung Note 9! Since I'm not a professional photographer, I needed some time to examine and choose the very best. This is why I'm submitting photos to you 48 hours after this magnificient display of June 24th. Sorry. All photos were taken using the original Samsung Factory "pre-sets" ... meaning I didn't change any settings. Also, absolutely NO filtering or reprocessing or Photoshopping, nope. I just grabbed my phone & started snapping photos for half an hour. I believe the delicate noctilucent patterns that I witnessed in the Southern Wasatch Front correspond nicely to official National Weather Service postings at Boise, Idaho and Las Vegas, Nevada. Particularly the far left (Northeast) corner of final photo #4 displays patterns consistent with photos posted on the Boise National Weather Service Twitter. PHOTO #1 Time is 4:50 am ISO is 1250 Exposure Time is 1/7 second PHOTO #2 Time is 4:50 am ISO is 1250 Exposure Time is 1/7 second PHOTO #3 Time is 5:02 Lower Quality Panorama PHOTO #4 Time is 5:09 am ISO is 640 Exposure Time is 1/10 second I've been a fan of your site forever and have always wished to submit something useful. Hope you can resubmit these photos to NASA and Wikipedia!
