Tonight I saw the most insane, brightest and widest display of noctilucent clouds in my life... and by very far. Unfortunately, I was attending an event at a bar/café in the city center of Nijmegen, The Netherlands, and had a beer too much to be able to take my car to the nature area outside of town. But luckily, the bar was at a walking distance from home, so I just ran there and grabbed my camera to take a few pictures. At first when I noticed the NLC, they were extending almost all the way down to the southern horizon. I have never seen anything like this before! When the sun got lower, they still covered the entire northern half of the sky all the way up to the zenith. They were so "messy" that it was hard to even find a composition to take a "clean" photo as I usually like to do. Finally, I went back to the work event with my camera, and took a last image from the historical city centre of Nijmegen. A night to remember with those absolutely gorgeous and bright NLC's! The file names of my photos give the time (local) at which they were taken. 11:03 PM for the first one and 11:20 PM for the last one.
