I'm still buzzing from the amazing NLC display we experienced over N. Ireland on Monday night, and just as amazingly despite having clear nights I have seen nothing of substance since, only a weak type 2 display which faded away, its still shocking to think how the sky differed only two nights ago. Best NLC display since the epic 2009 season, when I see NLCs which are not tenuous, but rather solid and 3-D like in form and moving in real time then I know I'm witnessing something special. I watched as Capella waxed and waned in brightness as highly structure electric blue clouds like ectoplasm passed in front of the star. This formation before 3am reminded me of an NLC Banshee propagating across the Mesosphere shaped my high altitude winds, gravity waves and meteoritic material, it really was an awe inspiring sight. I'm eagerly anticipating another display like it soon!
