Details:
A pillar of light rises from the Lighthouse of Punta Secca (Sicily). In reality the beam starts from the sun just below the horizon. The effect is created by the reflection of sunlight from tiny ice crystals that are suspended in the atmosphere.
I also send a shot in which we see the column of light when the sun is above the horizon and a didactic photo always bearing the same phenomenon.
