Details:
We shot this image of the Hyades and Pleiades clusters on Nov 3, 2018, on La Palma Island with a Canon 1100Da. The tracked exposures were done around local midnight and included 26 two-minute subframes at f/4 and ISO 3200 with a 50mm lens and a Hutech LPS-P2 light pollution suppression filter. We added four shots with a diffuser filter to enhance the star colors.
The individual frames were tracked with a purely mechanical tracker, the Omegon Mini Track LX2. We must say, we like this new sky tracker a lot. It is simple and lightweight and in terms of tracking accuracy this small device easily competes with the much more expensive motor-driven camera trackers. We wrote an extensive review of the Mini Track, published in the UK online magazine "Amateur Astrophotography". The magazine is available for free: https://issuu.com/amateurastophotography/docs/issue62
