Details:
Meteorologist reported a meteor fell onto the Earth which was captured by Japanese geostationary satellite Himawari-8. I obtained a sequence of images from the satellite as of 19 December, and composited into a GIF. Note that before the meteor appears, the Moon can be seen behind the Earth!
