Details:
The brightest supermoon of the year rises above Anchorage, Alaska on February 19, 2019 at 7:53 pm AKST as seen here from Earthquake Park. The illuminated “Arctic Valley Star” on the mountainside to the right has been maintained by military work crews since 1958. The Star is 300 feet in diameter and is composed of 350 sixty-watt lightbulbs. When there’s no Supermoon shooting skyward the Superstar keeps us company.
