Details:
We had another fine clear night with an all-sky display of aurora on Feb 1, from Churchill, Manitoba. The show started shortly after dinner at 6:30 and was largely over by 11 pm. The curtains filled the sky at times. This must have been the tail end of a substorm, as normally we don't see the Lights peak until local midnight. It's unusual to get them early in the evening and be in bed before midnight! This is from the Churchill Northern Studies Centre, a research centre that hosts both visiting scientists and also tourists wanting to experience the Arctic.
