I discovered this unusual image after returning from South Korea. I intended to photo only the equipment and my wife with the partly eclipsed Sun in background. Instead, the scope, which was pointed at the Sun with an ND5 filter on it passed the eclipse image but appears offset from the line of sight. This is the original photo as I found it this morning.

no, its an internal image from the camera you are using. Try it without the scope and you will see this time a round sun as no eclipse taking place.

But real indeed is the faint 22 degrees halo which is in the left and right parts of the sky in your picture. This halo finds its origin in ice crystals in the high cirrostreatus cloud veil.
