Image of Comet 46p / Wirtanen in its passage near Capella star (alpha Aurigae), the sixth brightest in the sky and the star of the first magnitude closest to the north celestial pole. The scene was captured on Christmas night (December 24, 2018), with difficult environmental conditions: gusty wind, some high clouds and almost full moon rising. Photographed from the small village of AlbanyĆ , in the northeastern end of Spain. Technical data: 10 x 15 s, Canon EOS 6D camera modified with Optolong L-Pro clip filter, lens 200 / 1.8, ISO 3,200.
