Details:
On 20th December managed to catch Venus with Mercury and Jupiter rising one day before closest conjunction because the sky was clear after a week of overcast at daybreak. The mosaic and animation were prepared from six still photos taken from first light (at 4.19 am) to when Mercury disappeared into the brightening dawn sky half-an-hour later. The next image shows the trio of bright Venus (upper left) with Mercury (small) and Jupiter nearest the horizon at 4.27 am. The last is a closer view of the Mercury-Jupiter conjunction above orange sunrise glow at 4.41 am. Camera: Hand-held Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ60 in night scene mode.
