Contrary to belief, and all internet elitists aside. You dont need to spend $6000.00 on a telescope to get a decent image of nebula nebula. I am 35 miles away from chicago. Meade 90mm x 800mm - basler 1300-30gm camera. Meade single arm mount. Total cost $500.00 on ebay. The camera is 300 bux.

Oh trust me George, I have my scope out there right now acclimating to the freezing temp so when I go out there it will be an ice cube. I will be waiting for the comet with a bottle of vodka, and ill be using a .5x focal reducer. If I cannot find wirtanen tonight, the star charts totally wrong :)

Its still a very poor shot of the nebula. Looks like something I would have taken in the 90s but hey, nice photo regardless. Ill take all space photos

come1984 its literally the first time i have ever takena photo of a nebula, and its not even stacked or processed. just a gif sequence of raw data. Zero sharpening. Zero photoshop. Zero registax. Zero pipp. This is real life. not some disney fantasy image conjured up by a guy sitting at his camera with 500 x 60 second exposures. This was 20 frames of real life.

and you are not far from the date, the camera is from the year 2004...... And yes, I am still using windows XP! so HAH!
