Details:
Comet Wirtanen will soon reach its shortest distance to the sun. In less than a week, on December, 12th its distance to the sun is the shortest during the actual orbital revolution (158.000.000 km) - that is about the same distance than between sun and earth. On December, 16th Wirtanen will pass earth in less than 12.000.000 km distance - this should pump up its coma diameter and angular velocity furthermore. Remote-telescope - iTelescope T09 Tele Vue NP-127 FLI Frame size: 3 x 3 deg. (16 MPix. sensor) L/R/G/B-channel @ 2x binning In addition to the stacked L/R/G/B-image registered on stars you will find an alternative L/R/G/B stacked on the comets nucleus. It will show the comets shape more lifelike, but also shows all other objects multiple (in 3 colors and L-channel). Compare with Wirtanen on December, 8th @ http://spaceweathergallery.com/indiv_upload.php?upload_id=149751
