Details:
During the early afternoon on 7th December an embayment in a rapidly growing cumulus cloud encroached on the Sun to produce an amazing crepuscular ray and cloud shadow display in which the Sun projected a cone of light from high in the sky above Hospital Hill. This bright beacon which appeared at 2.38 pm lasted for less than a minute. Many rumbles of thunder followed but no rain. Camera: Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ60 in scenery mode.
