Details:
Comet 46P/ Wirtanen shall have the closest distance to Sun 2018 Dec 12 at 1.05AU and closest to Earth 2018 Dec 17 at 0.0776AU. Maximum Mag 3.5 will be expected in late Dec 2018 - A naked eye comet can be visually observed at Northern Hemisphere with better geographic location.
It was easily observed by a pairs of 7X50 mm binocular yesterday. It likes a fuzzy ball around one degree in diameter.
I used a Takahashi E180 f/2.8 astrograph and Canon 6Da to capture it under the gusty wind on 04 December 2018. DSS & PS5 enhance the combined images.
