Details:
After spending the weekend photographing whales I was eager to capture some auroras from the forecasted strong activity by Spacweather.
On the boat on my way home to Tromsø strong greens were already dancing and I was able to shoot some handheld shots of the dancing auroras. But I wanted something more, with a nice foreground. I had this location I had scouted long time ago which I wanted to try with the auroras. By the time I arrived in Tromsø at 8pm auroral activity had taken a break. After 90minutes of driving from Tromsø I got to my location, and just as I was getting my gear ready the pitch black valley was filled with amazing strong auroras. The auroas was so strong they lit up everything. WOW! What a show, and man was I happy to get lady aurora to play along in my composition. It may be solar minimum, but in northern Norway you should always be prepared. The image was captured using a Sony A7R III + Sony FE16-35 2.8 GM lens.
