Details:
Persistence pays. After failed attempts at imaging in the morning due to cirrus clouds, a gap appeared in the afternoon. Clouds raced in two different directions across the image on the computer monitor. Finally they disappeared just long enough to capture the H-alpha image. Shortly, the sky again cleared long enough to capture the Ca-K image. Shortly after last imaging was completed, a jet with a swirling contrail spilt the solar disc from south to north. The contrail undulated slowly off the solar disk to the west and left a fitting tribute to the days effort.
