Hi Tony
N. Ireland got its first Arctic blast of the season last night. We got hit by nasty wintry showers and squally winds mixed with clear skies. My friends and I went moonbow hunting on the Antrim coast. The moon was bright and convective cells came on shore battering us, conditions were great, we bagged a few bows however it was the moonlit polar convection itself which was the star of the show in 100 knots of deep layer shear aloft. We could barely hold the tripods steady in the outflow wind, however here are a few images from the hunt. Also included is the famous Giants Causeway covered in sea foam in moonlight.
