I was on safari in Chobe National Par in Botswana, and while the rest of the people in the vehicle were scanning the bushes, looking for lions and leopards, I was looking up in the sky at this complex solar halo that was overhead. I've never seen a halo that looked like this one before. It was almost like a giant "eye in the sky" looking down on us.

A great image of a great halo display, maybe more rarely seen than lions and leopards. Most striking are the brilliant 22 degrees circumscribed halo with its slightly elliptical eye-in-the-sky-shape indeed, and the circular 22 degrees ring inside it. The fainter parhelic circle runs just through the sun, and outside of the circumscribed halo both of 22 degrees parhelia are on the parhelic circle. In the corner left below a faint rainbow-coloured 46 degrees infralateral arc is present. Most rarely in the display is the trace of the lower Parry arc in a bulging-out shape at the bottom of the circumscribed halo.
