Details:
I went down to the lake this evening after dark, drawn by the flashes of lightning of a late fall thunderstorm out over lake Ontario. I knew there was a chance of meteors tonight, the result of a recent close pass of comet 21/p Giacobini-Zinner. But there were quite a lot of meteors, and when I checked my pics for lightning strikes, I noticed I had caught a meteor! There was a lot of fog and haze on this night, but at the zenith I saw quite a few metoers, not captured by the camera as they were out of the field of view. But watching a thunderstorm 15 miles away over the lake, lightning and meteors on a mild October night made for the end of a great Canadian Thanksgiving!
