Details:
The solar wind has arrived! And it has arrived in style. Even when it was still too bright outside for any good Aurora display, we could distinguish here and there a green outburst against the bright blue sky. The camera even showed a green band low above the darker southern horizon!
As soon as the sky was dark enough then, we went from one outburst to the next, with barely any time in between. Several bright and fast coronas appeared right overhead! And with the still open water of the lakes, the show was extra special for someone like me who's mostly used to photographing the Aurora in the deepest of winter.
My first two nights up here in northern Finnish Lapland were very successful, but with this 3rd night, you can immediately notice the difference between a solar storm and just a "disturbance" as we had before.
I could just summarize this night by one word: "wow"!
