Details:
Braving the mosquitos, this 277 exposure started when the rocket cleared the trees (about 45 seconds after launch) from Lake Santa Fe in Waldo, Fl (about 120miles NW of Cape). Exposure stopped just after boosters fell away. The noise reduction program worked for another 277 seconds. A few minutes later I heard the rocket rumble for about 10-20 seconds. I heard a similar sound with the Apollo Saturn V launches in Orlando in the 60's. I am very familiar with the noise made by big rockets- I was one of many astronaut physicians supporting over 50 launches (and landings) during the Shuttle program. Also the trajectory of this launch was unusually low and fast as it blasted into space
