Details:
During the hour following sunset on 12 August the young 2% Crescent Moon and Venus were observed setting in the twilight sky to the west of Mutare. Visibility was not very good with layers of smoke haze close to the horizon but it was nevertheless possible to capture the accompanying x 90 magnification time-lapse of the thin crescent descending three times across changing sunset colored sky in the field of view of the camera. Also more distant views of both the young Moon and later Venus high above heading towards the horizon. Cameras: Two tripod mounted Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ60’s in sunset and night scene modes with up to x90 optical plus digital zoom.
