Details:
Mars is now receding and will be even more challenging from the UK, and since we are likely to be clouded out in the near future, I spent some time reprocessing the image posted a few days ago. This now does reveal slightly better surface features and the S. polar cap as well as Syrtis Major that is in full view. This image was taken with an 8 SCT + ADC + X3 barlow + a Phil Dyer (PD) camera. The best 1200 frames of a 2000 frame AVI was used, stacked this time with Autostakkert, sharpened with Registax 6 and processed with GIMP 2.10.
