Details:
The dust and debris from Comet 109P/Swift-Tuttle created a lovely Perseid meteor shower early this morning, putting on a real show in the dark skies near Rawdon, Quebec, north-east of Montreal - the best I've seen since 2006! They seemed to come in clusters, with breaks in between. At times, light green bands of airglow were visible too. These two meteors passed next to Ursa Major - the Big Dipper. It was quite the sight! Both images were single exposures, cropped & processed in PS CS6.
Nikon D800, Nikkor 20-35mm @ 28mm. Exposure 25sec f2.8 & 3.2, ISO 2000, 00:21 & 00:29 EST
