Details:
Image of comet C/2017 S3 (PANSTARRS) on July 15th 2018, photographed just when was happening a second outburst and increasing suddenly its brightness from magnitude 10.5 to 8. If we compares with the image I took on day 9th we will see its coma extended the size from 3' to 4', but mainly changed its appearance much more condensed and contrasted wich reveal recent gas emission still in expansion phase. On the other hand, begins to be appreciable the developing of a ionic tail toward northwest, although appears faint and short in this image. Telescope GSO 8" N f/3.8 & Camera Atik 383L+. 9 min. total exposure. Non-composite stacking. Locally from Hoya Redonda, Valencia (Spain).
