Details:
As a flightcrew crossing the Atlantic last night (July 19 2018), we were enjoying a great display of Noctilucent Clouds above the midnight sun from around 54N40W eastward. While I was in the process of taking a photo with my iphone the cockpit began to fill with bright white light. As I turned to look to our south, we collectively observed a large bright fireball and trail. I began randomly snapping photos as the object turned yellow and began to explode before decending towards the ocean. We clearly saw a large mass cooling after the last explosion descending below the horizon before loosing sight. Absolutely one of the most amazing sights I’ve seen crossing the Atlantic at night.
