Details:
Observing the planets Mars and Saturn from Stockholm can be quite frustrating this year as they never rise higher than 6°30' and 8° respectively above the horizon. But this was a memorable night with possibly the best viewing conditions in several years. I observed Saturn and Mars from dusk till dawn. I made an animation of 2 images of Mars taken 1 hour apart at 00h 05m UT and 01h 04m UT on the 14th of July. I hope for the same magical conditions when Mars will be in opposition. Photographed with an OMC-200 Maksutov from OrionOptics UK at prime focus of 4000 mm and an ADC from Pierro-Astro.
