This region is decaying and also rotating off the disk, but it did give a chance to try out my "new" iPhone 5c (a huge improvement over my wife's iPod camera!) and get some nice resolution of the magnetic turbulence and small proms. I used my Lunt 60 with B1200 Ha filter, and iOptron 12mm Plossl and smartphone adapter. I have found that this already useful accessory if made even better by adding a "shorty" 1.25" barloe (the bottom lens can be unscrewed, so you then can use the barrel as a 1.25" extension, as I had to with the sun almost overhead today at 11 AM. I also can screw on a .5X Antares telecompressor ($25 at Astronomics) to the same barrel, making the 12mm now a much wider field 24mm Plossl to shoot the full moon with my C-8. So now my iPhone has a 6mm, 12mm, and 24mm Plossl eyepiece for the adapter.
