Details:
The weather in the eastern part of the Caribbean is still calm but that could change in the coming months. Sprites have been abundant here in the past couple of years so I'm hopeful they will return.
The image posted here is a photo-composite of 5 separate sprite events that I photographed in the skies over Puerto Rico when Hurricane Matthew was a powerful category 5 storm in the Caribbean. The thunderstorms in the outer cloud bands were so intense that Mesospheric gravity waves were generated and can just barely be seen above the sprites in my photo.

I used a modified Canon T3 camera with a 50mm lens at F/1.8 for 1 sec at iso 6400.
