Details:
A clear dawn sky, very good atmospheric visibility and a favorable Southern Hemisphere location enabled the thin Waning Crescent Moon with Mercury above it, to be observed rising over Cecil Kop Nature Reserve from first appearance at 5.20 am (first picture ) until 5.58 (109 video frame time-lapse animation) when the Moon disappeared into bright sunrise glow. Some beautiful close-ups were also obtained (mosaic) of the thin golden crescent in different colors of dawn sky from 5.46 (lower left) to 5.51 (upper right). Cameras: two Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ60’s in night and sunset scene modes with up to x60 zoom magnification.
