Details:
The faint dwarf nova V392 Persei showed a very rare nova outburst at end of April. I saw it as an orange star next to its nearest 9.3 magnitude bluish star. It must have erupted almost a 10.000 times stronger than its "normal" eruptions. It had fainted somewhat to magnitud 8.8 by the time of this photo of May 5. Not a normal accresion disc interaction, but a nova outburst! Photos were taken by both a 250mm zoom lens and a Canon 7D (15 sec), and with a 12" Meade f/10 LRGB (4x30sec).
