Details:
Despite a 'calm' forecast for the nite of April 9, gentle surges of aurora - and some bright writhing spikes - wafted over clear cold skies (-24C) east and overhead of Yellowknife, Canada. The show started at twilight (10 pm) and lasted well past midnite MDT. Photos were taken on the one meter-thick ice of Yellowknife Bay, which snapped and cracked constantly underfoot. Details: Canon 5D MkII, 3200 ISO, Sigma 14mm f2.0, 5 to 10 seconds.
