Details:
This colorful cloud, the kind we usually see after a rocket launch, was visible from our home near Joshua Tree National Park on Monday, March 26. We rushed outside without a tripod and shot this image before the light faded entirely. A search of the Internet failed to turn up any mention of a launch, so we are guessing it was military.

The only mention that has been found was a Trident II missile launch from a submarine off San Diego. There is very little online about it.
