With all the recent interest in STEVE, I thought I'd upload this image I took on the evening of 27 May 2017 from Cheyenne, Wyoming. I thought I'd see what stacked images of the aurora would look like. By taking the brightest 25 images and applying the lighten setting in Photoshop, the result was surprisingly pretty. You can see by the star trails gaps, consecutive images were not used. No color saturation was used. Nikon D7000 ƒ/2.8 35.0 mm exp: 10s iso: 800 This result could only have been achieved with a nearly stationary aurora.
