Details:
The past couple of days have seen an uptick in geomagnetic activity resulting from the arrival of fast flowing solar wind from a wide gash in the sun's atmosphere. My magnetometer here in the UK first detected raised levels of geomagnetic unrest on the evening of the 14th of March (PI day) which settled and then intensified 24 hrs later as a second wave of plasma, faster and more intense than the first, buffeted Earth's protective magnetic bubble, sparking yet more beautiful aurora.
